Tasting room manager

duties and responsibilities:

- providing and taking responsibility for a consistent and pleasant customer experience

- maintaining a working knowledge of the tasting room menu, products, partners, and house procedures

- handling general oversight and direction of team members during scheduled shifts

- potentially assisting with scheduling or fill-ins when necessary

- assuming responsibility for the tasting room's overall operations during covered hours

- assuming responsibility for the overall cleanliness of the tasting rooms

- making staffing decisions based on tasting room traffic patterns

- ensuring all paperwork involved in day-to-day operations is properly filled out and filed properly at the end of the shift

- assigning / delegating tasks as appropriate to team members

- training / coaching team members on procedures

- managing inventory

- rolling out new initiatives and procedures to staff

- assisting with event development and planning

- ensuring team members complete all procedures properly, including (but not limited to) beer presentation, serving, suggestive selling

- assist with event and beer release photography and videography

- float the floors of the tasting rooms, interacting with customers and creating a social atmosphere

special requirements:

- ability to work a flexible schedule: days, nights, holiday and or weekends, weekend and evening shifts will rotate with the retail director

- Travel between tasting room locations

experience and skills:

- strong interest in / passion for craft beer

- photography experience a plus for event and beer photography

- videography experience a plus for social media posts

- strong communication and administrative skills to interact with customers, vendors, and coworkers in a professional manner

- possess the ability to multi-task and manage stressful circumstances associated with a fast paced work environment

- ability to work both independently as well as in a team environment

- ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns

- strong customer relations skills

- positive, professional attitude

- this position requires the regular use of a computer, printer, telephone, calculator, cash register, iPad and ipad based pos system and related apps, smartphone and related software. position also requires basic knowledge of a draft system.

- ability to occasionally exert up to 150lbs. of force (movement of half kegs) and / or up to 20lbs. of force frequently, and / or up to 10lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

- moderate mental and visual attention required for performing manual work, machine operations, set-ups, inspections, and adjustments that require frequent decisions to detect and adjust for variance from proper operation.
